I never knew of the miraculous (and I mean miraculous!) recoveries zolpidem has brought about in so many PVS and/or minimally conscious people. Thank you for sharing that link. It's even better than the movie "Awakenings"! You are right; Kathleen absolutely deserves to be among the folks who awaken from this drug.

I cried while reading the article -- mainly tears of amazement and joy. :) I also cried when I read the following quote: "It is difficult to describe how it feels to get someone back who you were told you had lost for ever. There is a bond that has been restored and it validates our absolute belief that all along George was locked inside there somewhere."

I don't comment here a lot, but I visit your blog a few times each week, and whenever I do, I think about Kathleen and her family and wish you all nothing but the best! Or in this case, after reading the article, I wish you nothing short of a miracle! :)

Wow, Mike - this is amazing, and potentially very powerful stuff. I do hope that they figure out why and how zolpidem works, so that it can help hundreds more PVS patients, and especially Kathleen.
We continue to pray for her every day.
