Kathleen is still doing fine and her wrist are beginning to loosen after the recent therapy. The family is still waiting on longterm reports from China on Chris and has spoken with Koo regarding the progress he is making. So far, it is less than encouraging. I share much of Koo's frustration and sadness. Koo also posted a recent blog on the monetary costs associated with pursuing alternative treatments for her husband. The emotional cost to a family are incalculable, but she accurately depicted the monetary situation.

Kathleen continues to be well taken care of as the caregivers continue to cover for the one of the caregivers who had her car break down. Kathleen received Botox injections yesterday to try and improve the rigidness in her arms.

Except for one afternoon when Mike filled in for a caregiver, the other caregivers have rallied so far to fill the gaps in the schedule. Kathleen continues to go to biofeedback, but her rigidity continues to worsen which means she may have to have another botox treatment in her arms.

Samie had a great time on her Gold Country field trip with her class and loved her return visit to Columbia (and its wonderful candy store).

Kathleen threw up several times yesterday and had more problems with caregivers today. Thankfully, her wonderful respiratory therapist came to check on her and she seems to be doing okay.

It was a tough week for Kathleen who had some intestinal problems and a caregiver down indefinitely with a burned out motor on her car.

Kathleen had a great weekend with her sisters visiting and a good Mother's Day too. The girls read books to her, wrote her cards, and gave her gifts.

Thanks to Dr. Los who went to work on his day off to clean Kathleen's teeth. Bean had a great appointment and opened her mouth well (quite a difference than her previous appointments).

Kathleen was finally visited by a Kaiser doctor. She has been taken off coumaden and the mystery of the bleeding ear has yet to be solved. She seems to be doing better though..

Thanks to a friend of a friend who is an ear nose and throat doctor who came on her own time to visit Kathleen today. It is likely that Kathleen had a painful and severe pain infection, but the final verdict will be unknown until after the dried blood slowly drains through treatment.
