Samie had a wonderful birthday yesterday with lots of laughing and great friends over for a swim party. The only thing missing from the party was Kathleen - such a fixture at birthday's past. Samie told her about the afternoon afterwards with subdued tones. Samie really misses her mom.

I'm glad Samie had a happy birthday. :) She deserves it! As much as Samie (and Rachel) miss their mom, I bet Kathleen misses them as well. :( And you too! I say this based on one of your blog entries a year or two ago, where you mentioned that some Drs. thought her diagnoses was now closer to "locked-in syndrome" than "minimally conscious".
At any rate, I continue to think about Kathleen, you and the girls each time I say my weekly healing prayer/sending of healing energy. Who knows how much it helps, but it certainly doesn't harm! :)
