Mike spoke with Dr. Steindler, head of the Mcknight Brain Institute in Florida who is doing some exciting research regarding regenerative medicine. Dr. Steindler was on the west coach helping CIRM decide on research grants for embryonic stem cells. The committee parceled out over 150 million in grants to dozens of groups.
There has been several encouraging updates on stem cells in politics recently such as the news that the Democrats plan to revive embryonic stem cell bill that Bush vetoed.
