Kathleen has been experiencing a higher heart rate and shaking a bit more than normal which often suggests an oncoming illness. Still, she has no fever and seems well otherwise.

Today, George Bush put his own moral opinion above the potential treatment of millions worldwide. He stated 'this bill would support the taking of innocent human life in the hope of finding medical benefits for others,It crosses a moral boundary that our decent society needs to respect. So I vetoed it.' He has instead proposed proper burial for the leftover frozen embryos from fertility clinic. Bush chose to make this absolutely inane statement and veto the bill in the presence of a group of fertility clinic babies to try and further confuse people.

Life certainly isn't fair. An absolute tearful wail rose from millions of Americans who have loved ones who could be helped by the promise of the American government fully backing embryonic stem cell research. Yet Bush, who fainted onto the floor and nearly experienced an anoxic brain injury four years ago with the stroke of his pen takes away potential treatment from people like my wife who actually experienced such an injury. Life isn't fair. It is wretched to wish ill on people, but if I could go back in time and change two things from happening the second would be to let Bush remain on the floor untreated. Millions of Americans suffering from debilitating illnesses and tens of thousands of Iraqis might have been saved from this indicted war criminal who imposes his morals on the rest of the nation and the world in general. Let Bush know how you feel. Not that he really cares.

I don't normally like using the word "hate", because it's such a strongly negative word, and I'm normally a strongly positive person.

However, George W. Bush is truly (and unfortunately) one of the persons I HATE! :( There are so many things he's for that I'm against, and so many things I'm for that he is against. And this is definitely one of the BIG ones! *sigh*

Counting the days until this sham of a president leaves office....

Gosh, your bitterness is so unbecoming and unproductive. Bush is a jerk, but that doesn't change the fact that even under the most ideal circumstances there will be no major developments in the stem cell arena, in our life time. Even if there are break throughs it will take many years to see any real progress. This is the reality of the situation. Whomever is giving you hope that there is any possibility that stem cell research could in any way effect your wifes recovery, should be ashamed of themselves. If this is what your doctor is saying, you should fire him/her and find another. Hope is OK, false hope is not. Good luck to you.

Wow anonymous. What a cruel comment. How can you say that when there have been discoveries in the past few years that scientists said wouldn't happen in our lifetime. I guess I should stop speaking with stem cell doctors and such and shoot from the hip with my theories.

I have never posted here before but I have followed Kathleen's progress for the past year. The love that your family has for each other is truly wonderfull. To the negative comments made - a person is entitled to post their personal feelings on their own blog. You are free to disagree but think about following the old saying - if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
